over the years. Frank Sinatra,Marilyn Monroe, Nick Adams and Sandra Dee owned a Ford

The production of 2-seat coupe/convertible started in September 1954, when some major styling changes took place. Inside, the instrument panel was redesigned with clustered dials plus new designs to the all- vinyl upholstery and trim combinations. Outside the spare tire went back into the trunk, which didn’t occupy too much room in the 5 feet by 5-1/2 feet space. The standard top for the ‘57 Thunderbird, made of glass-fiber, was removable and had stylish port windows (also available without port windows).Despite its sporty appearance, it was marketed as a personal luxury car. Ford put a greater emphasis on the cars comfort and convenience than on its inherited sportiness. The sleek 2-door body could be equipped with a hardtop when the folding convertible roof is tucked neatly behind the seat. A manually operated soft top was also an option, but at an extra cost. Tops were available in black, blue, tan or white and comfort-sealed against the weather. The rear was boasted for its fins, which were growing in popularity. The Thunderbird’s optional engine choice for 1957 contained 312 cu in with 285hp while the standard engine has 212hp. There were available 3 options of transmission including a new manual 3 speed. Such a success was the Thunderbird that, in 1955, it outsold the Corvette by 23 to one, with 16,155 units being sold compared to just 700 Corvettes. This car is equipped with the later 245hp V8 engine with double 4 barrel Holly carburetors and has power adjustable seat, power steering, power assisted brakes, power windows and AM/FM radio. In 2013, the suspension and steering have been rebuilt. The car has 41,955 miles on board
