In 1991, Ford became the new owner of Aston Martin and continued to develop the DB model range. First with DB7, a model with a 6-cylinder engine that sold so well that Aston Martin decided to launch a Vantage Volante in 1999. This version had a 5.9-liter V12 engine with 420 HP.
Vantage Volante was available with a 5-speed ZF automatic transmission or a 6-speed Tremec T-56 manual gearbox. The new version was so popular that Aston Martin stopped production of the 6-cylinder before the end of 1999.
