Silver Wraith was the first Rolls-Royce model after World War II and was produced from 1946 through 1958. Over the years, two Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith were featured in the James Bond film franchise.
Rolls-Royce is one of the most famous brands in the world. Founded in 1904 in Manchester, Rolls-Royce initially distinguished itself by the production of cranes, to later produce cars and, after the outbreak of World War I, aircraft engines.
The Silver Wraith was the first Rolls-Royce model after World War II. It was produced as a replacement for the 1939 Wraith, and the size was chosen to be in keeping with the mood of post-war austerity.
Improvements announced for Silver Wraith were chromium-plated cylinder bores for the engine, a new more rigid chassis frame to go with new independent front suspension and a new synchromesh gearbox. The car was produced from 1946 through 1958 and Rolls-Royce enthusiasts have often claimed it to be the last true Rolls-Royce built without regard to fashion or price.
Two Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith were featured in the James Bond film franchise. The first was a 1958 model appearing in the 1963's "From Russia with Love". Over fifty years later, a 1948 model was used in the 2015 film "Spectre".
