Țiriac Collection to host classic American car parade in celebration of U.S. Independence Day

On July 4th, 2015, to mark the United States’ National Day, the Țiriac Collection will host a parade of vintage American cars, featuring an impressive lineup of collector vehicles from iconic American marques such as Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Chrysler, Lincoln, Cord, and Packard - all manufactured between 1930 and 1970.

No fewer than ten remarkable automobiles will be on display to the public in Bucharest between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. The convoy will set off from the Țiriac Collection headquarters at 289 Calea Bucureștilor, Otopeni, and will follow a route through Bucharest via Șos. București – Ploiești, Șos. Kiseleff, Str. Ion Mincu, Aviatorilor Blvd., Mareșal Constantin Prezan Blvd., the Arch of Triumph, and then back via Șos. Kiseleff, Șos. București – Ploiești, and Dr. Liviu Librescu Blvd. to the final stop: the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest. The parade will conclude at the Țiriac Collection, where the vehicles will remain on outdoor display for visitors to admire up close.

All participating vehicles are in fully operational condition, including:

• Two Ford models: a 1939 Ford DeLuxe and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird
• A 1958 Chevrolet Corvette
• A 1968 Dodge Charger
• Two Chryslers: a 1933 Chrysler Imperial and a 1949 Chrysler Town & Country
• A 1948 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet
• A 1936 Packard Super Eight
• A 1950 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible
• And the star of the recent Sinaia Concours d’Elegance 2015 — the 1937 Cord 812 Custom Beverly

Țiriac Collection is Romania’s only personal car collection open to the public and currently showcases 150 exceptional automotive and motorcycle exhibits. Among these, 46 are classic American models from legendary brands such as Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Cord, Duesenberg, Ford, Stutz, Willys, Packard, Pierce-Arrow, Pontiac, Lincoln, and Harley-Davidson.

To mark the U.S. National Day, visitors who stop by between July 3rd and 5th will be greeted with popcorn and can snap photos with life-sized figures of Elvis Presley and President John F. Kennedy — each accompanied by a representative vehicle from the collection associated with their era.
