Țiriac Collection gallery triples Its capacity

— Feb 05, 2015

Țiriac Collection, the only permanent national gallery of collectible cars, is tripling its capacity. Starting February 9, 2015, the location will undergo major structural modifications to accommodate around 200 exhibits beginning in May of this year. During the technical work period, the gallery will be closed to the public.

“Since its launch, the gallery has received exceptional reviews both locally and internationally. Mr. Ion Țiriac's private vehicle collection is a point of attraction and education in the automotive world. Through this expansion, we aim to bring the public closer to a broader range of models that have marked the evolution of the global automotive industry. It is a unique gallery worldwide, and we are grateful to Mr. Țiriac for its remarkable composition," said Teodor Dorcescu, Țiriac Collection's administrator.

The gallery currently hosts the only complete Rolls-Royce Phantom I-VI collection produced until 1972, as well as vehicles previously owned by famous figures such as Sir Elton John, Sammy Davis Jr., and Bernie Ecclestone.

Țiriac Collection was inaugurated in November 2013 and currently showcases 70 impressive vehicle and motorcycle models produced since 1899. Visitors can explore over 30 renowned automotive and motorcycle brands, including Jaguar, Bentley, Jensen, Lancia, Pontiac, Mercedes-Benz, Rolls-Royce, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Maserati, Aston Martin, Harley Davidson, and Indian Scout.

The gallery will reopen to the public in the second half of May this year and will be accessible from Friday to Sunday, between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
