Silver Cloud was the core model of the Rolls-Royce range from 1955 and was a major change from the pre-war models. Elvis Presley owned a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I.
Silver Cloud was produced by Rolls-Royce from April 1955 to March 1966 and it was the core model of the Rolls-Royce range during that period. The Silver Cloud replaced the Silver Dawn and was, in turn, replaced by the Silver Shadow.
The new model was designed by John Polwhele Blatchley and was a major change from the pre-war models. As part of a range rationalisation, Silver Cloud is very similar to Bentley S1, apart from its radiator grille.
Construction of the Silver Cloud retains the separate body and chassis design, which facilitated the provision of coach built bodies for the car. The 6 cylinder engine of the new car was a peculiar one with an estimated 180 HP and a 4 speed automatic gearbox driving the rear wheels.
Elvis Presley owned a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I.
This particular model, equipped with power steering and power operated windows, was exported to the United States on 22 October, 1958. Some attention was paid to the bodywork in late 2012 and the engine was changed in 2013.
The car has travelled 17,900 miles (approx. 28.807 km).
