The Continental GT3-R is inspired by the Bentley GT3. As such, it is probably the most uncompromising and focused road car Bentley has ever produced. Furthermore, with a limited production run, the GT3-R will always be extremely rare.
Developed with Bentley Motorsport and hand-crafted in Crewe, GT3-R is the culmination of 95 years of racing heritage. It’s undoubtedly a road car, but with the heart of a racer.
One thing that has always separated Bentley from its former longtime partner Rolls-Royce is its racing heritage. Bentley trots out this factoid from time to time when it wants to go back to the track, as it did at Le Mans from 2001 to 2003 with the Speed 8 and as it is doing with the Continental GT3 in the Blancpain Endurance Series in Europe and the Pirelli World Challenge in the States.
This is the first Bentley with absolutely no wood. The GT3-R features carbon trim on the doors and the center and overhead consoles. The Bentley passes 100mph in only 8.2sec and completes a standing quarter mile in 12.0sec precisely. The GT3-R is powered by a blueprinted version of the Bentley 4.0 V8. This makes the GT3-R more usable, safer and more enjoyable year-round on the imperfect surfaces of road driving. But while it’s nowhere near the weight of the stripped-out, harsh M-Sport racing car, the GT3-R is still the lightest, most dynamic Continental yet. Weight is 100kg down from the Continental V8S.
