The Rolls Royce Silver Cloud I was designed by I.P. Blatchley and was a major change from the pre-war models and it was very similar to the S1 Bentley.

Rolls-Royce unveiled the Silver Cloud I and the Bentley S1 in April 1955. The chassis that had been used since 1939 was replaced, and would be the last separate chassis employed by the marque, used as a long-wheelbase version until the mid-1980s for the Phantom V and VI. A new cylinder head was designed for the classic six-cylinder 5-litre engine.
Twin SU carburettors were added in 1957 to both Bentley and Rolls-Royce versions. The engine was extremely quiet and the famous Rolls-Royce slogan declared: "At 100 km an hour the loudest noise in this new Rolls-Royce comes from the electric clock". The engine was mated to an automatic four-speed gearbox offering a very smooth gear change. Mechanically, the car was very reliable and well-maintained engines were more than capable of lasting over 300,000 km.
This motorcar offers many advantages over other versions of the Silver Cloud, including the folding rear bench seat and swivelling mirror in the rear central armrest. This Rolls-Royce is also equipped with air-conditioning and varnished wooden picnic tables in the back of the front seats. In 2014, the engine was comprehensively rebuilt and today the car functions beautifully with a very smooth gear change.
The interior is completely original with pale taupe leather displaying a charming patina, and the exterior has been beautifully re-painted. The restoration was made by Tiriac Collection’s engineers.
The car has 83,665 km on board.
