The Fulvia was available in 4-door saloon (Berlina) and 2-door Coupe versions. Piero Castanero designed the coupe version in-house.
The standard coupe was equipped with 1.3L V4 engine and 80 hp and the HF version had 88 hp from the same engine. This gave the little coupe very lively performance. The Rally 1.6HF evolution had even more power, producing 115 hp at 6000 rpm from its 1.6L V4 engine.
Dubbed 'Fanalone' (roughly translated as 'big headlights'), the 1.6HF also benefitted from a close-ratio, five-speed gearbox, front suspension modifications and aluminium body panels, which transformed it into a potent 850-kg world-beating rally car. The Fulvia won the Italian Rally Championship eight times between 1965 and 1973, and both the International Rally Championship of Manufacturers and Monte Carlo Rally in 1972 – the latter courtesy of Fulvia folk hero Sandro Munari. The works car was equipped with a race version of the 1.6L engine, producing 132 hp.
Fulvia’s front wheel drive chassis and independent front suspension gives superb handling and performance, even by today’s standards.
This 1.6HF Fanalone Tipo 818-540 has been prepared for group 3 rallying and is equipped with a fully adjustable suspension, full roll over cage, race seats and harnesses and a short ratio gearbox.
The car has 30.430 km on board.
