This Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is one of only 645 Indy Pace Car Editions built for 1993. It was introduced on an updated F-body platform. It would retain the same characteristic since the first-generation's introduction back in 1967. All 645 Indy Pace Car Editions were finished in two color Black& White with unique multi-colored stripes and special white painted twin spoke wheels.
The unprecedented success of Ford’s Mustang sent rivals General Motors into a scurry of activity. Its answer was the Chevrolet Camaro, and even General Motors could not have been disappointed when it sold 220,000 units in its first year. It was based on the uninspiring Chevrolet Nova body/chassis and mechanical package, but its classic “Coke bottle” styling by Bill Mitchell.

The engine and drivetrain actually needed no modifications from its road-going form to meet the rigorous pace car requirements for Indy. Under the hood is a 5,733cc V8 engine that is backed by a 4 speed automatic transmission (borrowed from the Corvette) that drives a limited slip rear end. Four wheel disc brakes were also standard equipment.
All 645 Indy Pace Car Editions were finished in two color Black& White with unique multi-colored stripes and special white painted twin spoke wheels.
With only 645 produced, these 1993 Indy Pace Car Edition Z/28 are very rare.
